IV. Program Objectives and Characteristics
1. Training goals
The professional training with good moral character, physical and mental health professionals engaged in the field of landscape architecture theory of history, heritage protection, planning and design, landscape architecture and other aspects of the project. Training can blend science and art, the image of the integrated application of innovative thinking and logical thinking talents. After graduation, students can engage in landscape design, urban design and landscape planning, forest parks and urban planning all kinds of green space, landscape architectural, natural and cultural heritage in the relevant sectors, such as gardens, urban construction, municipal transport, heritage protection, education, etc. work planning, design, construction, management and education and scientific research.
2. Professional Features
On the basis of the professional educational principle of "thick and solid foundation, wide channel, strong ability, high quality, more attention to the practice", basing on Architecture and Rural and Urban planning, the discipline major in the core contect of Landscape Architecture, including history and theory of landscape architecture, garden and landscape design, landscape planning and ecological restoration, landscape heritage, and landscape technology science.
Around the running concept of our university, "based in Beijing, facing the whole country, relying on the construction industry, and serving for urban and rural construction", the specialty makes full use of the enterprise cooperation as a platform, building up the after-school talent training base, thus devoting itself to cultivate outstanding graduates in landscape architecture, who adapt and meet the industry demands.
The main professional design focuses on such topics as landscape planning and design, landscape architecture heritage, landscape-based ecological restoration, accompanied by landscape plants, landscape engineering, ecology science, culture and art, earth science, sociology and other disciplines.
V. Student Learning Outcomes
1. Basic requirements
(1) Students have ability to adapt to the demands of economic development and construction of the country and the society, to have integrated all-round development of Moral education, intellectual education, sports, aesthetic education and labor education, and also to have certain knowledge of natural science, humanitic and social science, engineering technology,environmental science, law, national defense, economy, and project management.
(2) Students know the new trends in the development of science and technology, having broad knowledge, full of the spirit of hard work, and have good culturalconsciousness.
(3) Students have good psychological qualityand good health, understanding the significanceand basic knowledge about sports, having thegood habit of physical exercise, and get up to the National Physical Health Standard of College Students.
